At Learning Resource Centre, I specialise in supporting adults who may have struggled with reading, spelling, or confidence for many years - often without ever having been formally assessed as children.

Many people describe it as feeling like they are constantly walking a tightrope: avoiding opportunities, not enrolling in courses, or turning down roles just to keep their literacy difficulties hidden.

Many adults only discover later in life that these challenges may be linked to dyslexia. I provide a calm, understanding environment and completely tailored learning experience where you can explore support options at your own pace.

Reading

I help adults who:

Struggle with reading and understanding written text
Find spelling difficult or inconsistent
Lack confidence using reading and writing in daily life
Have avoided learning opportunities in the past due to difficulty or anxiety

My approach focuses on practical skills, confidence-building, and steady progress - not pressure or judgement.

Writing

At Learning Resource Centre, I help adults improve their writing skills in a supportive, step-by-step way, whether for everyday life, work, or study.

We support adults who:

Struggle to write clearly and confidently
Find spelling, grammar, or sentence structure difficult
Lack confidence with forms, emails, or letters
Want to improve writing for Functional Skills or GCSE English

My focus is on practical, real-world writing that builds confidence and makes everyday communication easier.

Communication Support

At Learning Resource Centre, I support adults in developing clearer, more confident communication skills for everyday life, work, and study.

We help adults who:

Lack confidence speaking in everyday situations
Struggle to express ideas clearly or be understood
Find phone calls, meetings, or conversations difficult
Want to improve communication for work or further education

My support focuses on practical, real-life communication skills to help adults feel more confident and able to express themselves effectively.

Adult Dyslexia Assessment

I also offer adult dyslexia assessments for individuals who:

Suspect they may be dyslexic
Want formal identification for workplace or education support
Need clarity on their learning profile

Assessments are carried out in a supportive and professional setting, with clear feedback and recommendations for next steps.

Functional Skills English Support

We offer structured support for adults working towards:

Entry Level English
Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills English

These qualifications can support employment, further education, and everyday independence.

GCSE English and Math

For adults who want to gain a recognised qualification, I also provide support for GCSE English and Math. Lessons are tailored for adult learners, with clear guidance and step-by-step teaching to build skills and exam confidence.
